Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations and production goals
Direct delivery drivers in transportation services, such as moving, storing, and delivering quality product to customers
Confer with supervisors, customers, contractors and other personnel to exchange information to solve problems regarding freight flow
Monitor and ensure proper performance and use of vehicles and material
Plan and establish transportation routes
Ensure all DOT and company regulations are adhered to by the workforce
Conduct safety training on and off-site locations; travel may be required 10% of time
Monitor and coordinate maintenance
Promote and manage safety
Other tasks as assigned by the Transportation manager
Qualifications include:
Working knowledge and experience in a logistics role in applying principles and methods of moving goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits
Experience in motivating, developing and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job
Knowledge and experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) laws and regulations and ensuring the workforce is in compliance with such laws
Strong understanding of interstates and highway systems in the Western States' regions and potential obstacles that could delay, damage, or impede timely delivery
Software and computer skills, such as Google Applications, PC Miler, Samsara, Lytx and other relevant logistic systems
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Nice to Haves:
Two or more years of Transportation Logistics experience
