Compensation:
- Annual salary starting at $53,867

General Responsibilities
- Customer Service and Quality - Provide all customers served by the department with quality of service consistent with company goals.
- Expense and Productivity - Monitor all facets of the department activity to ensure that expense ratios for the department are within the agreed upon levels consistent with departmental budgets and goals.
- Human Resources - Provide an atmosphere in the department that promotes high levels of achievement and low turnover. Maintain a non-union environment.
Asset Management - Monitor proper usage of both manpower and equipment. Promote and enforce safety rules for individuals and equipment. Being in compliance with all OSHA requirements for people and machinery
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Responsible for shipping of all outbound orders accurately and on time.
- Work closely with the order filling department on wave flow to the shipping department.
- Assists in resolving order errors or discrepancies.
- Monitors loading progression to ensure routes depart on time
- Respond to customers requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
- Corporate customer service representative request and inquiries
- Sales request and inquiries
- Direct request and inquiries from customers
- Promote and foster an atmosphere of good customer service throughout the department.
- Communicates customers expectations and load quality requirements
- Coaches and develops employees in proper loading procedures.
- Collaborates and communicates closely with the transportation department to ensure customer needs are met through a team effort.
- Reviews Truck Loading Report Forecast for potential loading issues
- Reviews Order Pull Errors and Stats Report for potential order errors
- Provides employees with information concerning run changes and add ons
- Assist and ensures Dock Set Up is correct
- Updates transportation department on load departures and possible delays.
Expenses and Productivity
- Follows operating expense budget for the department
- Responsible for labor expense rates
- Keeps employees on task
- Monitors individual employee productivity and quality results
- Strives to meet finish time goals and reduce overtime
Human Resource Management
- Maintain staffing levels to provide superior customer service
- Assist in interviewing and hiring new employees
- Maintains department attendance records
- Approves weekly time records
- Schedules employees vacation requests
- Stay current with employees attendance disciplinary steps.
- Ability to coach, develop, and facilitate individual team members as it relates to overall performance.
- Oversees new employee training process
- Stays current with employee evaluations
- Upholds, supports and maintains safety standards at all times.
- Conducts daily safety reminders in start up meetings
- Leads and participates in daily stretching exercises
- Monitors and keeps an awareness of potential safety hazards
Asset Management
- Maintains the required level of housekeeping in the department
- Ensures all equipment is proper working order
- Communicates needed equipment repairs with maintenance department
Other Duties
- Able to manage time efficiently. Handle multiple tasks and complete priorities
- Establish good working relationships with other departments to insure smooth transition of all outbound functions.
