As a growing company, we are always looking for new team members to help us continue in our success. Currently, we are seeking Business Development Manager located in the Mid America area (North/South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan) who will support Orgill Sales Representatives and District Managers in a team effort to increase Company market share in assigned geographic region. Working from home, this employee will identify, qualify, and call on prospective customers. This employee will analyze customer needs and offer products, programs, solutions and services to retail hardware, lumber, and farm and ranch supply dealers. In addition, this employee will increase current dealer participation in Orgill’s sales and marketing programs. This is not an entry level sales position, nor is it one for someone who does not have extensive sales, sales management or retail management experience in our industry.

  

 

 

What Requirements Should I Have?

  • Increase market share by prospecting for new customers, and increase business with current accounts by offering additional programs and services. 
  • Attend trade shows and industry functions to promote the company. 
  • Gain knowledge and use of tools and technology developed for the Sales Department to create a stronger bond between Orgill and our customers. 
  • Apprise social, economic and governmental issues that will impact our business in the region.  Provide this input to determine how our resources can be best utilized for future growth.
  • In-depth and up to date knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the hardlines industry is required.
  • Five or more years of experience in the wholesale or retail hardware, lumber, building materials and/or farm supply trade is required.
  • Must be proficient with use of email (Gmail), internet, Microsoft Office computer applications including PowerPoint.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience making presentations.
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record is required.
  • Must be willing to work from your home, traveling by auto and air throughout an  assigned geographic region.
  • Prefer candidate with Associate or Bachelor degree.

  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. 
  • Possess the knowledge and skills to plan, organize, and implement a range of business, operation, marketing and technology services and solutions. 
  • Effective presentation skills to include obtaining the buy-in from the audience. 
  • Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.
