The purpose of this position is to prepare employee for regular sales territory assignment to be determined at a later date. Training must first be completed, and a territory vacancy must occur. Training will consist of enhancing current selling and business management skills and developing other skills and knowledge required for a Sales Representative position. Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Training
    Orgill Sales reps have the best sales jobs around because they have on-going training that makes them more powerful in their positions. Whether they're taking over day-to-day category management or walking a customer through a major growth project, our sales force has been educated and informed through a training program called Orgill Corporate University. Our industry, products, and marketing programs change constantly and we keep our employees up to date!
  • Support & Recognition
    Our Orgill sales reps are never alone or working in a vacuum without guidance. Orgill provides the resources and infrastructure to support our sales force and help them succeed. Teamwork and mentorship are integral to our programs so no one is ever completely without a touchstone. And as our sales reps continue to grow and succeed, Orgill has recognition programs in place to ensure everyone gets their well-earned credit.
  • Independence & Flexibility
    Most of our sales reps enjoy the benefits of working from their own home. No rush hour commutes or cubicles! This also means that our sales reps set their own schedules while always ensuring the needs of their customers are met.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Complete internal formal training modules.
  • Participate in sales meetings and customer markets.
  • Participate in projects conducted at customer retail stores.
  • Work in customer stores, at an Orgill distribution center, and the Customer Service Department.
  • Travel with Sales Representatives, Sales Managers and Truck Drivers to observe and assist as assigned.
  • Work selected sales territories in the absence of a regularly assigned Sales Representative.
  • Working knowledge of email, internet, and Microsoft Office computer applications.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Willing to travel 4 – 5 days per week on an on-going basis.
  • Must be willing to relocate at Company expense when assigned a territory.
  • Prefer candidate with Associate or Bachelor Degree.
  • Two years of related business or sales experience in our industry (retail or wholesale hardware, lumber, building materials, farm supply) is preferred.
