As a growing company, we are looking for new team members to help us continue in our success. Currently, we are seeking a District Manager for the Northeast sales territory.  The successful candidate will be reponsible for managing and directing a team of sales representatives to achieve sales and profit goals throughout the assigned district.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Supervises, assists, and develops sales representatives in effectively identifying sales opportunities within existing customer base.
  • Advises sales reps on best practices in promoting and selling company products, programs, and services in order to take advantage of those opportunities.
  • Monitors competitive activity and develops/implements new sales techniques to take advantage of competitor weaknesses.  Instrumental in driving new account prospecting and development. 
  • Facilitates the working relationship between the Sales Representative and Business Development Manager.
  • Plans, forecasts, and reports on sales, costs, and business performance, according to company requirements.
  • Recruits, hires, manages, motivates, coaches, trains and develops staff according to company policies and employment laws and regulations and ensures that all company and Human Resources procedures are followed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested to support the successful conduct of business.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms, including spreadsheet and computer presentations.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement a range of sales and marketing programs.
  • Knowledge of the retail hardware, retail lumber and building material industry’s concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and abilities.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

Minimum Job Qualifications: 

  • Five to ten years of experience in the hardlines industry and a thorough knowledge of the wholesale or retail hardware, lumber, and building material industry’s concepts, practices, and procedures required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Frequent travel is required.
